Sustainability

Caring for the environment: not just a slogan, but a concrete commitment

For us at Celplast, environmental sustainability has been for a core value since the very beginning of our production.

We believe that ever company has a duty to minimize its environmental impact by acting both on production processes and on the use of recyclable and recycled raw materials.

Recycled raw material

For our production we use certified materials sourced from post-consumer and industrial waste streams, which we process directly within Celplast facilities.

Reduction in raw material usage

Continuous innovation and research have enabled us to reduce the use of raw material In our products by at least 15%, without compromising quality.

100% recyclable products

Ongoing investments in research and development are aimed at leveraging new technologies to further reduce the environmental impact of both our products and Celplast’s production system. This commitment allows us today to state that our products are 100% recyclable.

An environmentally responsible production process

Unlike processes used to manufacture products from alternative materials such as wood pulp or paper, our production process is more environmentally friendly because it doesn’t require the same level of electricity, water, and chemicals consumption.

The comparison highlights how, during the production phase, plastic packaging can use less water, energy, and raw materials than paper alternatives.
Specifically, the data indicates a reduction of up to approximately 67% in water consumption and greater energy efficiency, with a significantly higher number of units produced with the same amount of energy used.
The use of raw materials is also lower for the same packaging performance and functionality.

Data refers to the production phase only and for the same packaging function.

Transport savings

Thank to the progressive reduction in the storage volume of our packaging, it is now possible to load up to 30% more products on each pallet, ensuring a significant reduction in environmental impact.

Use of compostable materials

We offer a new range of packaging made from compostable materials and designed to further expand our sustainable product offering.

PLASTIC SUSTAINABILITY

In public debate, plastic is increasingly subject to hasty judgments and partial information, which often portray plastic food packaging as less sustainable than alternatives made from other materials. However, this demonization is not supported by data: studies and research conducted by authoritative scientific bodies show a far more complex reality.
